There are several important state laws that affect residents who live in mobile home communities. Having a copy of these statutes is important to understanding your rights.

Chapter 723, Florida Statutes
The mobile home law that governs residents who live in a mobile home community where they own their home but rent their lot.

Chapter 719, Florida Statutes
The Cooperative Act that governs any type of cooperative in the state including mobile home cooperatives. When a mobile home park where the residents rent the lots is purchased by the residents, the park becomes a cooperative and is governed by Chapter 719. (Residents who do not purchase are still governed by Chapter 723.)

Chapter 617, Florida Statutes
This chapter is the not for profit corporation statute that governs all not for profit corporations in the state. Most mobile home owner associations are formed as not for profit corporations.

Chapter 607, Florida Statutes
This chapter is the for profit corporation law and governs all for profit corporations. Some homeowner associations were created as for profit corporations.
